Lithology Comments

Jan 27, 2017 (A Wilson) - The metasedimentary unit is underlain by parsgneiss, amphibolite and marble. The metasediments strike northeast and dip 60-70º Se and are intruded by a mass of metagabbro and by a band of syenite containing patches of nepheline gneiss. Three radioactive showings occur in leucogranite pegmatite. The pegmatite bodies are up to 90 ft. wide and 450 ft. long. Showing No. 1 is on the north side of Hadlington Lake A leucogranite pegmatite forms a lenticular body at the south point of a swamp at the mouth of the northeast bay of the lake. This body has been explored by 3 trenches. Geiger counter readings in a shallow trench averaged 10x.

Mineralization Comments

Jan 27, 2017 (A Wilson) - Grab samples from showings 1, 2, and 3 averaged respectively 0.108, 0.09 and 0.098% U3O8. Four samples from the south part of the No. 1 showing averaged 0.108% U3O8. Geiger counter readings for No. 2 showing ranged from 4x to 6x. Four grab samples from this showing averaged 0.09% U3O8. Showing No. 3 is a dike or sill of leucogranite pegmatite striking about N 30º E which has been explored by 3 trenches and a number of shallow pits over a length of about 450 feet. Geiger readings on the granite pegmatite were 5x-12x with rarely, a few spot-high readings of 18x where magnetite is abundant. Eleven grab samples of freshly-blasted pegmatite taken at 5-50 foot intervals over a length of 200 ft. in the north part of the showing averaged 0.198% U3O8.
