Exploration History

1918 : British Molybdenite trenched on lot 32, con 5 - an open cut 30 ft long with a 10-12 ft face and a stripping extending 70 ft from the open cut to some test pits. '. 1957 : F. Walsh drilled 2 holes (80 ft) on lot 32N, con 5, and found no significant mineralization. 1969 : Mandarin Mines Ltd staked and optioned claims which included the British Molybdenite showing in its NW part. Mandarin also reported the presence of 2 old quarries in nepheline pegmatite and pits for feldspar in granite pegmatite. Theycarried out a scint survey, some geology and trenched (A on lot 34S, con 5 and B on lot 35SW, con 5). 1973-4 : Imperial Oil, Mandarin Mines and Morgan Mines Ltd, in a joint venture, in Glamorgan and Monmouth townships, carried out a radon survey in snow and soil, a scint and a geological survey. They drilled at least 15 holes (3,550 ft) in 1973 and 5 in 1974 (1,718 ft). They also took 2 (500 lb) bulk samples from a mineralized skarn boulder. 1975-6 : Imperial Oil carried out drilling in various locations, including 8 holes in GlamorganTtownship.

Lithology Comments

Jan 23, 2017 (A Wilson) - A metasedimentary belt, predominantly marble, is intruded by granite and syenite pegmatites which carry thorian uraninite, uraninite and carnotite with minor py and po. Radioactivity is associated with hematization and occurs within diopside-calcite skarns (uraninite) within the marble as well as in the pegmatites (thorian uraninite). Mo and graphite also occur. A zone, 3,000 x 400 ft has been outlined on this property. Drilling assays ranged up to 0.21 % U3O8 over 2.0 ft. Innumerable occurrences of high grade uranium-bearing skarn were found by drilling and one continuous skarn was identified over an elongated, Z-shaped strike for more than 6 miles. This takes in the Canadian All Metals and Wadasa prospects to the E, in Monmouth township.

Mineralization Comments

Feb 04, 2017 (A Wilson) - Molybdenite and graphite also occur. A zone, 3000 x 400 ft. has been outlined on this property. Drilling assays ranged up to 0.21 % U3O8 over 2.0 ft. Innumerable occurrences of high grade uranium-bearing skarn were found by drilling and one continuous skarn was identified over an elongated, Z-shaped strike for more than 6 miles. This takes in the Canadian All Metals and Wadasa prospects to the east, in Monmouth Township. Drill core samples ranged up to 0.21% U2O3 over 2.0 feet. Skarn rock carries continuous radioactivity over a considerable distance.
