Lithology Comments

Jan 22, 2017 (A Wilson) - The surface work has exposed slightly radioactive granite or granite pegmatite dikes and bodies in a band of marble lying between granite gneiss to the east and paragneiss to the west. The pegmatite bodies are very irregular in shape. The property is underlain to the west by paragneiss, with some marble and apmphibolite and to the east by granite and granite gneiss. The metasediments strike parallel to the granite contact at N25ºE and dip 50-80º SE. They are intruded by metagabbro, syenite and granite or granite pegmatite dikes.

Mineralization Comments

Jan 22, 2017 (A Wilson) - Radioactive mineralization occurs in a series of northeasterly striking quartz-feldspar pegmatite dikes. They are quite coarse grained, vary in colour form pink to deep red and appear to dip southeast conformably with the metasediments. Chip samples assayed from 0.01% to 0.025% U3O8. Early drilling intersected 0.156% U3O8 over 2.6 m and 1.876% U3O8 over 1.7 m. Assays from the Garland Mining and Development drilling program returned values ranging from 0.018% U3O8 to 0.140% U3O8 chem. In 1977, the largest dike encountered in drilling had a true width of 9 ft. and returned 0.1 lb U3O8 and ThO2 per ton.
