Jan 22, 2017 (C Papertzian) - A peatland reconnaissance site covering 442 ha. Three samples had an average peat depth of 175 cm. The total sampled peat depth of the low shrub bog is uncharacteristically shallower than that of the shallow marsh. The humified layer is dominated by shrub peat to a maximum depth of 60 cm and by sedge in the lower horizons. Sand is the controlling mineralsubstrate. There is good access but areas of open water throughout. The deposit is narrow in several places and there is a 40 % dense tree cover in the conifer swamp areas. The deposit is on Crown Land.
