Lithology Comments

Nov 06, 2013 (A Wilson) - A 3 foot wide dike of brown-weathering syenite pegmatite occurs at the contact of marble and paragneiss. The marble is medium- to coarse-grained, gneissic, siliceous calcitic marble containing 20-60% siliceous impurities and commonly contains thin intercalated units of amphibole-rich metasedimentary rocks. The pegmatite strikes N50W and dips 40ºSW.

Mineralization Comments

Nov 06, 2013 (A Wilson) - Graphite comprises approximately 5-20% coarse flake graphite ranging from ¼ to ¾ of an inch in diameter. The calcite contains disseminated phlogopite and a few small flakes of graphite.
