Point Location Description: A point N of Farquhar Lake in lot 5, con 3.

Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: The Jet property covers lots 1-8, con 3-4 and the S half of lots 1-8 in con 6. The occurrence itself consists of several dykes located within the lots and cons listed. The lots within cons 3 and 4 can be reached from Grace and Farquhar Lakes, to the immediate S. The lot within con 5 is accessible via a secondary road 5 ml N from Wilberforce, on Hwy 648.



Exploration History

1957 : stripping, pits and trenches by P.J. McLean on the N half of lot 6, con 5. 1958: Harcourt Mining Co Ltd carried out geological and scint surveys, stripping and trenching. They drilled 5 holes - 4 on the N half of lot 6, con 4 (1,022 ft); 1on the S half of lot 6, con 5 (80 ft). 1968 : Jet Uranium Ltd carried out radiometric, geological and mag surveys. They drilled 8 holes - 3 on the S half of lot 4, con 4 (899 ft); 2 on the S half of lot 5, con 4 (640 ft) and 3 on the N half of lot 5, con 4 (668 ft). 9 grab samples from the dyke on lot 6, con 4, averaged 0.053 % U3O8 (radiometric). About 100 lbs of uranothorite were picked from a trench along a small pegmatite dyke.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Sills and dykes of granite and syenite pegmatite (up to 150 ft wide) intrude metasediments. Radioactive minerals occur in pegmatites which are usually associated with hematization and fracturing.
