Lithology Comments

Nov 06, 2013 (A Wilson) - The host rock is described as a siliceous banded paragneiss which strikes N85W and dips 45º S. The paragneiss lies abutting granite gneiss to the south and leucosyenite to the north.

Mineralization Comments

Nov 06, 2013 (A Wilson) - Some bands of gneiss contain considerable graphite in flakes from 1/8 to ¼ of an inch in diameter. Other bands are mineralized with finely disseminated pyrrhotite and the occasional small flake of molybdenite. The pyrrhotite and molybdenite occurs in rusty-weathering bands adjacent to the graphitic zone. The graphite zone was exposed in the old pit for a width of approximately 2 feet. The band contains an estimated 10% graphite.
