Access Description: From the Bancroft post office turn right, go up the hill and at the top of the hill keep to the left. At the intersection of Hwy 28 E and 28 S turn right onto 28 S. Drive 2.56 km and turn right onto the Monck road. Drive 11.2 km on the Monck road to a white house on the right. A map is obtained at the house and a bush road, just west of the house, is followed for 2.5 km to the mine site.
1954-56 : Silver Crater Mines Limited performed trenching, a magnetometer survey, packsack drilling and 7075 feet of diamond drilling. 1967-69: Fidelity Mining Investments Limited carried out geological, magnetic and radiometric surveys as well as 20 diamond drill holes totalling 8377 feet. 1968: Trenching and radiometric surveys by F.H. Jowsey. 1975: R. Laird performed geological, geochemical, radiometric and magnetic surveys. Brascan Resources performed geological, geophysical and radiometric surveys. 1975-76: Radiometric and radon gas surveys by Kerr Addison Mines Limited. 1977: Airborne electromagnetic and magnetic surveys by Brascan Resources, Projex and R. Laird. 2005: El Nino Ventures Inc.optioned the property covering the Silver Crater - Baumhour - Campbell occurrences and established a grid and performed a grid scintillometer survey. They tied in former trenches and mapped anomalous radioactivity and assayed bedrock samples for U and Th. 2006: El Nino Ventures Inc. continued work with infilling scintillometer surveying. Alphameter surveying was carried out over anomalously radioactive areas and then these areas were trenched.
