Lithology Comments

Jun 24, 2014 (A Wilson) - Highly syenitized rocks developed mainly in alaskitic granite with abundant patches and veinlets of alkali pyroxene and amphibole and local patches of highly fenitized rock. The original lithology has been largely replaced by nepheline-normative alkali feldspar syenite. The pegmatite dikes can reportedly be traced for over 700 feet in length and are up to 30 ft wide.

Mineralization Comments

Jun 24, 2014 (A Wilson) - Molybdenite occurs as coarse flakes erratically distributed in fractures. Assays completed by Satterly ranged from nil to 0.64% MoS2. Over half of the assays were below 0.10%. In 1920, 20 tons of 0.31% ore and in 1921 600 pounds of 0.53% MoS2 was sent to the DEMR for testing. Carbrew Exploration collected four selected grab samples of residual material which returned assays ranging from 8 to 35 pounds U308 per ton. The uranium and fluorite content of the pegmatites is reportedly highly variable, but can be extremely rich. Typical assays from the Carbrew diamond drilling returned values of 0.45% U3O8 and 0.11% ThO2 over 1.4 ft., 0.56 lbs U3O8 and 0.77% ThO2 over 8.1 ft.
