Exploration History

1957 : Frobisher Mines Ltd conducted an airborne mag survey to investigate the profound negative mag anomaly over a pyroxenite body. 2 zones were outlined, both marked by magnetite and pyrite concentrations on the ground. The negative anomaly was attributed to the reverse polarization of a highly titaniferous magnetite. 1983 : D.A. MacFadyen staked 15 claims within lots 1 and 2, con 5-7, lot 3, con 7, lot 3N, con 6. He carried out a preliminary gravity and mag traverse within con 7.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - The pronounced ground and airborne mag anomaly is associated with a 3 km long, N-S trending, elliptically-shaped, layered ultramafic sill complex. Several thin, magnetite-rich pyroxenite layers with local minor py and po. Potential for economic deposits of magnetite and base metals near the base of the sill.
