Feb 01, 2017 (A Wilson) - An old molybdenite showing on lot 32 concession 16 was explored by pitting and blasting down the wall in an old open-cut. The workings exposed and albite-pyroxene skarn containing erratically distributed molybdenite in flakes ¼ to 1½ inches across and pyrrhotite in grains. The main zone near the eastern boundary of lot 31,concession 17 consists of a 30º-50º dipping, erratically mineralized skarn zone which can be traced about 300 m along strike to the northwest. Surface samples from the main zone taken across two exposed widths of 10 to 13 m and 3.6 to 8.3 m respectively yielded assays ranging from 0.05 to 0.44% MoS2. These same sections also assayed approximately 0.004% U3O8 (chemical). Similar results were obtained on a second 133 m long mineralized skarn zone to the north of the main zone on lot 32,concession 17.
