Lithology Comments

Sep 28, 2010 (A Wilson) - The pegmatite strikes east-west and narrows eastward. The pit is about 30 m long, 5 m deep and ranges between 5 and 12 m in width. The country rocks are granitic gneiss and hornblende-biotite gneiss some of which is included within the pegmatite. Biotite is abundant in amphibolite at the boundary between amphibolite and pegmatite.

Mineralization Comments

Sep 28, 2010 (A Wilson) - Feldspar crystals up to 2.5 cm in size were observed at the pit. Anomalous radioactivity is limited to isolated spots of less than 30 cm square in the pit. In 1942, Satterly observed a microcline crystal up to 1 foot in diameter. Grab samples collected by Marmont and Johnston returned assays up to 35 ppm Ce, 16 ppm La, 16 ppm Nd and 30 ppm Y.
