Clay 1 Diatomite Is

Mineralization Comments

Apr 04, 2011 (A Wilson) - The occurrence is described as a 1 foot thickness of diatomite lying in a bay. It is covered with 1 foot of mud and underlain by sand resting on blue clay. The diatomite is of good white colour but is badly contaminated with silt. The deposit is quite high in silica and alumina. An analysis of the sample returned 66.80% SiO2, 14.00% Al2O3, and 2.63% CaO.
