Mar 30, 2011 (A Wilson) - The abandoned quarry lies in biotite gneiss and is 91 m by 61 m by 9 m high. Although 112,500 tons have been removed for rip rap and crushed stone, a high biotite content renders the rock unsuitable for crushed aggregate.
