Access Description: The pit is located 1.2 kilometres southeast of where the Sequin River crosses Highway #518. Drive south from Highway #518 along West Bear Lake Road for 3.0 kilometres and turn west on a hunt camp trail, just past a gravel pit. Follow road to the end (1.5 kilometers). The pits are approximately 100 metres northeast of the hunt camp.

Lithology Comments

Mar 17, 2011 (A Wilson) - Bedrock in the vicinity of the pit is limited. Information pertaining to the geology was obtained from dump material. The country rock is a quartz-biotite gneiss that has been sheared and intruded by a pegmatite. Satterly described the geology as being comprised of biotite gneiss, garnet-biotite gneiss and hornblende gneiss with pegmatite stringers. Two pits were found in the same vicinity. The southern pit was 6 feet deep and the northern pit was 4 feet deep.
