Lithology Comments

Mar 17, 2011 (A Wilson) - The gneiss is part of the laminated granodiorite to trondhjemitic gneisses mapped in the area. These rocks are rich in quartzo-feldspathic veins and minor discontinuous lenses of amphibolite. The country rock is a biotite-hornblende-garnet gneiss with pegmatite stringers, both concordant and discordant to the foliation.

Mineralization Comments

Mar 17, 2011 (A Wilson) - The best assay from OGS sample 81-RK-57 returned 660 ppm Cu, 120 ppm Pb, 640 ppm Zn in pegmatite. The best assay from the gneisses returned 520 ppm Cu, and 150 ppm Zn from OGS sample 81-RK-55. Disseminated pyrite, chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite are present in both the gneiss and the pegmatite. A grab sample collected by J. Satterly in 1942 returned no gold, although gold values were reported by the property owner.
