Mar 04, 2011 (A Wilson) - The country rock is a dark-green hornblende gneiss containing irregular lenticular bands of red garnet rock. The pits expose a coarse-grained greenish crystalline limestone.
Mar 04, 2011 (A Wilson) - A few flakes of molybdenite were found in the area.
