Access Description: From the bridge crossing Manitouwabing River in lot 4 concession 7, drive south 250 m to the Chisholm hunt camp. From the cabin, follow the footpath across beaver dam and south for 270 km to the top of a small hill.

1937-38: C.F. McQuire - in production. Feldspar produced and sold to Bathurst Feldspar Mines Limited.

Lithology Comments

Mar 05, 2009 (A Wilson) - The pegmatite dike was opened by a trench which trends N50°-85°W and is 220 ft long, 25 ft wide and 10-20 ft deep. The operators reported that the dike was 12 feet wide, widening to 25 ft at the west end, but that at a depth of 20 ft it narrowed to 4 ft. The host rock is gray biotite gneiss, with minor amounts of hornblende gneiss.

Mineralization Comments

Mar 05, 2009 (A Wilson) - Pink feldspar can be seen in masses as large as 3 by 5 feet. Glassy white quartz is abundant at the west end. There is practically no biotite and very few garnets. The pink feldspar returned 14.83% potash and the white feldspar returned 0.90% potash.
