Access Description: From Orrville, highway 518 west 3.1km to Swords Road. Turn south and follow for 3.4km to abandoned railway. Follow railway west for 3.4km to southeast Hunt Cabin trail. The pit is located 125m east of the cabin and ~20m north of Spectacle Lake.

Mar 04, 2011 (A Wilson) - The intrusive has been mapped as a laminated, gneissic monzogranite locally veined by quartzo-feldspathic material. The pegmatite dike is approximately 15 feet wide.

Mineralization Comments

Mar 04, 2011 (A Wilson) - The waste rock on the dump shows pink microcline feldspar crystals with grey quartz in pegmatite. The microcline crystals are up to 1 foot in diameter. The feldspar was analyzed by J. Satterly and a sample from the pit returned 64.63% silica, 19.29% alumina, 14.48% potash and 1.34% soda.
