Feb 24, 2011 (A Wilson) - The gneiss strikes N15°E and dips 57°W. The gneiss is cut by a 5-8 inch wide vuggy, white to grey pyritized quartz vein. The vein was exposed for a length of 5 feet. Modern interpretations identify the rock type as gneissic textured augen-textured leucodiorite to quartz leucodiorite. Primary igneous layering is present in places and is marked by pyroxene or its metamorphic equivalent.
