Feb 24, 2011 (A Wilson) - Modern interpretations identify the rock type as gneissic textured augen-textured leucodiorite to quartz leucodiorite. Primary igneous layering is present in places and is marked by pyroxene or its metamorphic equivalent. The rock on the dump and around the shaft is silicified granite gneiss, pegmatite and hornblende pegmatite. The test pit exposed a lens of coarse hornblende pegmatite.
