Access Description: From the intersection of highway 11 and highway 518 at Emsdale, proceed west on the township road for 500m. On foot proceed south along hydro transmission line for 120m. Proceed west for 30m to the pit.

circa 1970: approximately 15-20 tons of quartz extracted from the pit

Lithology Comments

Jan 10, 2012 (A Wilson) - The bedrock consists of a massive garnetiferous amphibolite with minor quartz and pegmatite stringers throughout. Mineralization is restricted to minor amounts of disseminated pyrite. A 5 foot wide pegmatite dike trends N20E and dips 65 W.




Mineralization Comments

Jan 10, 2012 (A Wilson) - Grab samples of amphibolite collected by the OGS returned 29 ppm Cu, 4 ppm Pb, 34 ppm Zn and 0.2 ppm Ag; 24 ppm Cu, 6 ppm Pb, 27 ppm Zn. A sample of pegmatite assayed 16 ppm Cu, 7 ppm Pb, 13 ppm Zn.
