Access Description: The pit is located on the north side of Siding Lake near the village of Martin Siding. From the old post office at Martin Siding, a trail leads part of the way to the pit which is ~200m west of the post office.

Apr 04, 2011 (A Wilson) - Gneissic, pink to greenish, metaluminous monzogranite with a laminated structure and metamorphic fabric. Commonly veined by quartzofeldpathic material A series of quartzo-feldspathic and hornblende gneisses strike north-south and dip to the east. The gneisses are cut by quartz-rich pegmatite stringers.
Apr 04, 2011 (A Wilson) - A few tonnes of material was removed from a pit at this site. It may have been used as a local source for aggregate A grab sample collected by the OGS in 1991 returned 22 ppm Cu, 24 ppm Zn and 6 ppm Pb.
