Lithology Comments

Nov 07, 2013 (A Wilson) - Despite the usual fine-grain size, some of the pelitic gneiss units contain coarse, mauve garnet porphyroblasts and graphite flakes may locally attain 2 mm diameter. The best place to see the varieties of layered gneiss typically associated with graphite-bearing rocks is along Highway 60 close to Oxtongue Lake.
