Lithology Comments

Aug 27, 2012 (A Wilson) - The stone is predominantly gneissic with small porphyroblasts of garnet and hornblende. Several joints are recemented with quartz and coarse-grained knots of quartz are common. The property shows excellent potential for the extraction of large quarry blocks. The stone has well developed gneissic texture. The stone is generally massive with well developed gneissic foliation. Locally, 1-10 cm thick layers of amphibolite produce a straight gneiss.
