Nov 03, 2009 (A Wilson) - The rock in the trenches is a hornblende gneiss with minor disseminated magnetite. The rock dump included examples of massive magnetite and garnet amphibolite. Other pits in the vicinity of the main showing display rock dumps consisting of medium-grained amphibolite containing disseminated magnetite and a garnet-hornblende-feldspar-magnetite rock

Nov 03, 2009 (A Wilson) - A grab sample of magnetite collected by Satterly in 1941 returned 52.74% Fe, 2.73% SiO2, 11.50% TiO2, 2.28% S and 0.004% P. Massive magnetite containing disseminated red garnet and some pyrite was found on the rock dump.
