Exploration History

A yellowish white cabochon, somewhat less transparent but with more brilliant fire than moonstone from Ceylon, has been cut form peristerite collected near Sundridge in Strong Township.

Feb 10, 2011 (A Wilson) - Patches of pink sunstone and pink peristerite occur in granite gneiss exposures along the eastern shore of Bernard Lake. The patches measure 10 to 15 mm in diameter.

Feb 10, 2011 (A Wilson) - The mineral is described as peristerite, variation sunstone. Both the sunstone and peristerite are suitable for lapidary purposes.
