Jan 27, 2011 (A Wilson) - The stone is massive and porphyritic in texture. It has a pronounced lineation defined by black, rod-shaped clusters of biotite-quartz ranging from 0.5 to 1 cm in diameter and up to 10 cm long.
Jan 27, 2011 (A Wilson) - Stone from this quarry was used to quarry cobbles for the Yonge Street streetcar tracks.
