Point Location Description: Star symbol 'lst 9' N of Ashton Station, near the township boundary.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: On the top of a ridge, 11/2 ml N of Ashton Station.
Circa 1917 : a small quarry, for local use (operated intermittently). 1938 : some local buildings were said to have been built of this stone. It was sampled at this time.
Province: Paleozoic and Mesozoic Basins
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Chazy limestone - Gull River Formation - about 3 ft exposed : variable (8 inch thick), grey, fine-grained.
