Point Location Description: Point 4.6 km south of Poland.

Location Method: AMIS Site Visit

Access Description: Drive west from the hamlet of Poland and turn left on Umpherson's Lane. Go southwest past Horne Lake and turn left on fork at 4.7km. Park on crest of hillock after 0.2km.



Exploration History

Circa 1907 : Wellington and Henderson – prospecting, 2 pits, 100 yd. apart, sunk to 20 and 22 ft. in gossan.

Lithology Comments

Sep 15, 2015 (C Papertzian) - Gossan along contact of a coarse amphibolite and a fine-grained grey granite - strikes NE and runs into lot 19, con 6. Seams of pyrite up to 1 ft were found but no appreciable quantity. Trenches in these marshes commonly expose a ' good grade of bog iron ore '.

Mineralization Comments

Sep 15, 2015 (A Wilson) - Seams of pyrite up to 1 ft. were found but in no appreciable quantity. Trenches in these marshes commonly expose a ' good grade of bog iron ore. The south pit is reported to contain quantities of delicate cellular silica.
