Point Location Description: Pit near the SE end of Longstone Lake, S of Redhorse Lake.

Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: A single lane gravel road passses 1.6 km to the SW of the deposit.



Exploration History

Pre-1909 : a pit was opened on a magnetite showing at a marble-paragneiss contact - this was traced about 250 ft on to lot 26, con 5, and was about 10 ft wide. More magnetite was exposed 'several hundred yards from the pit'. About 15 tons of massive magnetite on the dump.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Disseminated to massive magnetite at a marble-paragneiss contact, traced for 250 ft and about 10 ft wide. Assayed 44.0 % Fe. This is in the same sequence as the Summit Lake magnettite deposit and lies immediately to the E of a small intrusion of gneissic granite.
