Access Description: 16 square mile area in SE Carlow : the W part lying SW of Fraser Lake and the E part forming a prominent range of hills from Con 8 along the E boundary with Mayo township. The Boulter Gabbro lies between. See MDI31F04SW00127.

Oct 19, 2011 (A Wilson) - Hewitt and James described the intrusive as a grey biotite-albite granite of medium-grain size. Verschuren et al. described it as a fine to medium-grained tonalite. Quartz veining and pink feldspathic veins occur locally. The stone has irregular jointing; however some local areas show limited jointing. The stone may have potential for ashlar, structural stone, curbing stone and architectural stone.
