Lithology Comments

Jul 06, 2011 (A Wilson) - The mineralization is contained within one of two small bodies of pyroxenite at the main showing. Theses bodies are contained within gabbro and have somewhat gradational contacts. The pyroxenite forms a massive, coarse-grained, dark green rock that is composed of homogenous intergrowth of hornblende and relict pyroxene.

Mineralization Comments

Jul 06, 2011 (A Wilson) - Mineralization consists of two surface exposures of disseminated chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite in gabbro. At the main showing there is a zone of mineralization measuring about 4.6 by 7.6 m. Assays from these trenches reportedly returned: 0.72% Cu, 0.37% Ni; 0.07% Cu and 0.16% Ni and 0.50% Cu and 0.65% Ni. The best intersections from the Landolac drilling reportedly returned 0.33% Cu and 1.36% Ni over 8 feet. Grab samples collected by the OGS in 1977 returned: 0.22% Co, 1.5% Cu, 4.6% Ni; 0.01% Co, 1.90% Cu and 0.21% Ni; 0.03% Co, 0.21% Cu and 0.45% Ni. Grab samples collected from the second showing, 335 m south of the main zone reportedly returned: 0.89% Cu, 0.59% Ni; 0.12% Cu and 0.44% Ni. A grab sample of well-mineralized material collected by the OGS in 1977 retuned 1.56% Cu and 0.77% Ni The mineralization consist of scattered zones of disseminated-to massive chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite contained within the pyroxenite and gabbro. The mineralization is erratic in distribution and occasionally forms massive lenses up to 0.6 m thick. Grab samples collected by G. Wilson were analyzed for precious metals. A grab sample of pyroxenite returned 13 ppb Au and 2 ppb Pd; and two grab samples of sulphide-rich pyroxenite returned 4 ppb Au and 8 ppb Pd; 85 ppb Au and 12 ppb Pd.
