Collected by Dr. W. G. Miller in 1920. One of very few occurrences of dumortierite in Canada.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Dumortierite occurs as deep blue, sometimes radiating , crystals in a pegmatite band in the gneiss complex of the north half of lot 31 ,concession 14, Ashby Township. The pegmatite is medium - grained and consists largely of quartz and feldspar with muscovite, tourmaline and kyanite in subordinate proportions.
