Point Location Description: Dot symbol ' Ne ', 1.6 km N of Egan Chute, E of York River.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: Reached by a road which leaves the York River road at a point 1.6 km N of Hwy 500. The workings are immediately W of this road, 1.2 km N of the intersecton with the York River road.
1939-40 : the Temagami Development Company operated the quarry and shipped 1,663 tons of nepheline pegmatite to the United Feldspar Corporation of Maine, U.S.A. 1941-2 : this property and the adjoining nepheline rocks (N and S of the quarry) were stripped, trenched, bulk-sampled and drilled by the American Nepheline Corp. There is a main quarry and a small quarry, the latter opened on the W side of the hill (20 ft long with a 10 ft face). There is also a 40 ft slash along the E side of the hill, 300 ft N of the main quarry.

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - The quarry is in massive nepheline-albite pegmatite (patchy, about 120 m long and 100-200 m wide) in a nepheline plagioclase gneiss. Biotite, sodalite and cancrinite, along with apatite and gieseckite, are reported.
