Mineralization Comments

Oct 18, 2011 (A Wilson) - Mineralization consists of erratically disseminated magnetite in an ore body 1900 feet long and 200 feet wide. A composite sample of 5 diamond drill holes collected by P. Giblin contained 27.27% Fe, 0.27% TiO2, 0.71% P2O5, 0.215% S, 20.75% SiO2, 4.43% Al2O3, 21.40% CaO and 5.55% MgO. Samples collected by the OGS in 1980 analysed: 22.0% Fe, 12.2% FeO, 0.23% TiO2, 0.18% P2O5, 0.04% S, 0.014% V and 60.5% Fe, 24.6% FeO, 0.04% Cu. The magnetite occurs as massive lenses, disseminations, clots and stringers along the foliation planes of the adjacent rocks. Considerable amounts of pyrite and pyrrhotite also occur in some areas of the deposit.
