Exploration History

1983-5: Jayfran Enterprises Ltd and Pipawa Explorations Ltd carried out geological, geophysical and radiometric surveys, stripped and trenched and sampled on this property. They drilled 7 holes (833 ft) for nepheline and 4 holes (367 ft) for uranium in 1984. They outlined a high-grade zone of 1.4 mil tons of nepheline gneiss underlain by a lower-grade zone of 0.5 mil tons. The deposit lies on the top of a hill in the area of lot 16, con 14. The work in 1988, drilling on lot 20N, con 14, was to increase the tonnage found in 1984. See also MDI31F04SW00013, Great Bend Area (con 14, lots 14-15).

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - The most radioactive locations (in pegmatites) are in the NW corner of the property. 2,400, 1,750, 1,780 and 2,060 ppm are the highest U values, evenly-spaced along a 2,300 ft line. The pegmatites are hosted in syenite and some nepheline syenite does occurr on the property, although they question the mapping of it by the OGS.
