Exploration History

Mineral location : apatite + pre-1942 : an opening, 25 x 3 x 5 ft deep in a fissure in granite.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - A fissure in pink granite contains : apatite, quartz, purple fluorite, pyroxene, hornblende, cyrtolite and pink feldstpar lining the walls; calcite, apatite and a little titanite as the fissure filling. Zircon is also reported. Some of the calcite rock contains 20-40 % apatite crystals, averaging about an inch in length (and up to 1 foot long). Radioactive minerals have been reported.
