Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - 1977 : sampling by the OGS - sample PM143 is marble, adjacent to syenite, at S8-2 (from a road-cut). During the examinaton of the nepheline deposits which occur in several bands along the York River, the presence of sulphides and rusty weathering were noticed. 4 samples were taken : S8-1 is a lens (2.0 x 0.5 m) in amphibolite. S8-2 consists of sulphide minerals (and bornite) in syenite gneiss. S8-3 (DDH) is from the Davis Nepheline Quarry, 9m from the contact with the gneiss.
