Access Description: This is not a mineral collecting site. The occurrence is on private property, no trespassing permitted.
A yellow-orange cancrinite and sodalite pit was located on the NW face of Cancrinite Hill. The workings were about 50 ft wide and 20 ft deep and partially covered by talus.

Geological Age: Mesoproterozoic
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Patches of cancrinite and sodalite occur as replacement patches along fractures in a biotite-nepheline-plagioclase gneiss. There is some pegmatitic nepheline, sodalite and cancrinite. Magnetite, tourmaline, clevelandite, molybdenite and hydronephelite are accessories.
