Point Location Description: Point on Hwy 28, 0.5 km E of Bow Lake.

Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: From the Bancroft Hotel drive S on Hwy 28 for 5.35 ml to the road cut - check the far end on the left side. It is the first road cut SW of the Faraday / Madawaska Mine entrance (0.6 ml S).

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Blue scapolite occurs in biotite-gneiss. It is grey-green when freshly broken and turns bright blue on exposure to sunlight. The associated skarn assemblage includes calcite, garnet and epidote.
