Point Location Description: Property symbol ' GG ' just S of Bancroft.

Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: The extensive Bancroft nepheline syenite band of Dungannon township extends W into Faraday : lot 1 and 2, con A - on the hill just S of Hwy 28 and in the railway cut just S of Hwy 28 on the W bank of the York River. On lot 58 or 59, HRW, on the S side of the Faraday metagabbroo ridge, 600 ft W of Hwy 62. On lot 68, HRW, on the E side of the York River a few hundred feet S of Snow Road there is a band 300 ft wide. Also, as a mineral collecting site : just off Station Street, S along the tracks to a rock dump - unshipped material from the Goulding-Keene Quarry in Dungannon.



Exploration History

Mineral location : collecting site at the rock dump along the railway tracks in Bancroft - zircon (cyrtolite), sodalite (hackmannite), albite (peristerite), biotite, natrolite, autunite and zeolites (?). Some exceptional specimens of cyrtolite have been found.

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Nepheline-plagioclase gneiss occurs in the mixed hybrid gneiss complex with marble and amphibolite.
