Lithology Comments

Oct 19, 2011 (A Wilson) - A narrow band of dolomitic marble is bordered on either side by biotite-quartz-plagioclase paragneiss and schist. The marble band varies in width from 100-200 m and has been traced for a strike length of over 700 m. The fine-grained marble is white to buff in colour and has a sugary texture.

Mineralization Comments

Oct 19, 2011 (A Wilson) - Mangrove Resources divided the property into three apparently stratiform zones on the basis of acid insoluble content. Zone A in the core of the unit has an average dry brightness of 94.30% and acid insoluble content of 6.80%. Zone B along the eastern margin of the dolomite has an average brightness of 94.56% and an acid insoluble content of 18.39%. Zone C along the western margin of the dolomite unit has an average dry brightness of 93.52% and acid insoluble content of 10.15%. Zone A, B and C dolomite has physical and optical characteristics which would make it suitable for construction aggregate, decorative stone and low to medium grade filler products. Its brightness values are acceptable for high specification filler products; however, the acid insoluble contents are generally greater than the required range of 3% or less. White marble was quarried and sold as crushed marble, landscaping stone, decorative stone and in pre-cast architectural concrete and panels.
