Point Location Description: Dot symbol ' A41 ' W of Hwy 28 between Monck road and Bentley Lake.

Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: Near the top of the S side of a very large hill, about 400 m N of Bentley Lake and 350 m S of the Monck road. The Monck road leads N from Hwy 28 about 2.5 km W of Bancroft. It forks after about 1.3 km and the showing lies 350 m S of the S fork at a point about 1.9 km W of the fork. The deposit may be reached by walking 350 m across country, SE from the Monck road.



Exploration History

1954 : trenching, pitting, scint and geology surveys and drilling by Goldhawk (later Greyhawk) as part of their East or Riddell Lake Group (A-B, 8-15).

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - A pegmatite, at least 200 m long and 1-5 m thick. Readings of 20-50 x background in numerous places and large areas of consistently high readings. The pegmatite is along a contact between marble and a biotite-magnetite-syenite. Pegmatites along this horizon can be traced as far as Derry Lake and all are anomalously radioactive.
