Feb 21, 2012 (A Wilson) - The pegmatite conains quartz and feldspar with augite, titanite and allanite. The allanite has shatered the light minerals making the rock much easier to mine and crush. Three hundred pounds of the pematite was concentrated at the Temiskaming testing Labs. The product from the Wilfley table, Cerium, thorium and zirconium were detected spectroscopically. The sample returned a RRE content of 1.6 pounds per ton. The syenitic country rocks yielded radioactive readings of 3600 cpm, wheras the granite pegmatite gave readings of 6000 cpm. Grab samples collected by the OGS assayed 2 ppm U3O8, 29 ppm Th and 80 ppm Ce (sample R-77-38-2). Sample R-77-38-4 assayed 7 ppm U3O8, 26 ppm Th and 330 ppm Ce.
