Exploration History

1957 : York River Uranium Mines stripped and trenched and drilled on the D Zone. 1977 : Inco metals Ltd (Canadian Nickel Mines Ltd) carried out geological and geophysical surveys and minor drilling on the D, E and G Zones. Drilling in the D Zone has intersected 0.825 % U3O8 over 0.9 ft and 0.163 % over 4.4 ft.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Widespread but erratic mineralization in pegmatites up to 2 m wide and generally < 0.5 m wide, in the area of the contact between the granite and granite gneiss phases of the Faraday Granite. See OGS, 1981 for a detailed description. Uranothorite and betafite.
