Point Location Description: Circular symbol ' Fe ' near the NE end of Banner Lake and N of Bay Lake.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: Located along the S slope af a steep ridge 60 m N of a gravel road, about 1.6 km S of Bancroft.
Pre-1943 : some trenching - 2 parallel trenches, both about 18 x 1 m.
Province: Grenville
Geological Age: Mesoproterozoic
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Disseminated to massive magnetite in a lens 250 x 15 ft in pyroxene skarn at the contact of gabbro and dolomitic marble. On the hanging wall side of the magnetite body are zones of tremolite-tourmaline. See MDC 20 (1981) for a summary.
