Jan 17, 2012 (A Wilson) - Kyanite occurs in blue-bladed crystals up to ¼ inch in diameter. Needle-like aggregates of sillimanite occur with the garnet and kyanite. Kyanite and sillimanite comprise approximately 5-10% of the narrow gneissic bands.
