Access Description: Proceed east from Maynooth to New Carlow than at New Carlow turn left onto Boulter Road for 3.9km turning left onto a gravel road for 1.1km to hunt camp (RR#242). Trail site is 100m north of hunt camp. Parking is on left 200m n of the camp.

Oct 31, 2011 (A Wilson) - Foliated to gneissic, leucocratic potassium-feldspar bearing albite syenite with augen to laminated structure and a metamorphic fabric.

Mineralization Comments

Oct 31, 2011 (A Wilson) - Bronze, yellow-brown and green corundum occurs intergrown with magnetite in the syenite and pegmatite. On the northeast face of the main cut, a 10-foot zone of pink corundum syenite pegmatite is exposed. Corundum ranges from 1/16 to ½ inch in size and comprises approximately 10% of the rock. Along the northwest wall of the cute, a 6-foot zone of pink and grey syenite runs 10-15% corundum and can be traced for 30 feet.
