Jun 30, 2011 (A Wilson) - Two clusters of corundum occurrences occur within a gneissic, albitic syenite. The first cluster of workings occurs at approximately 303598E 5023320N. A second cluster of workings occurs at approximately 303379E 5024001N. The second cluster of workings consists of open cuts up to 15 feet deep. The corundum-bearing bands are less than 1 m in width and are irregular in appearance.

Jun 30, 2011 (A Wilson) - In a few places, tapered prismatic brown crystals of corundum ranging from 3 to 6 inches in length were observed. The crystals range from 1/4 to 1 inch in diameter. Red garnet was observed as a secondary mineral near the second cluster of workings.
